UNEV Project

PSE provided engineering for the Utah/Nevada gasoline pipeline connection to gain access to the Las Vegas market. Project included tanks, pumps, pipeline, extensive leak detection systems, foundations for pumps and pig launchers/pig receivers, pipe structures, access platforms, civil site work, civil/structural work for transfer stations, as well as miscellaneous buildings such as the MCC enclosure.


Engineering Analysis – PSE to provide:


  • Hydraulic study, electrical load analysis, sizing calculations for all engineered equipment and piping:
    • Pumps
    • Transformer/Electrical Equipment
    • Piping
    • Pig launcher/receiver
    • Relief valves required for the pump or pig launcher and receiver
  • New 10”, 300# pipeline
  • Pig launcher – installed at the Remote Tank Farm
    • Spill containment under the pig launcher
  • Pig Receiver – installed at the UNEV Pump Station
    • Spill containment under the pig receiver
  • Pump Skid – installed at the Remote Tank Farm
  • Corrosion Protection
  • Lighting
    • Provide a method to cathodically protect the buried pipeline
    • Provide lighting at the Tesoro Remote Tank Farm for

    • Provide lighting at the UNEV Station for The pig receiver
