Cement Plant Expansion

PSE was contracted for several improvement projects to double the production capacity at a northern Utah cement plant. Among the projects were the addition of a new materials storage silo, the design of a new mill building with associated processing equipment, the addition of a new mill stack with deflagration venting, and the design of kiln maintenance facility structures. PSE is also contracted to provide controls system upgrades to the plant on a yearly basis.

MECHANICAL ENGINEERING:

  • Coal/coke silo storage re-routing

  • Mill building structural design

  • Platform and special supports structures for mill stack

CIVIL/ENVIRONMENTAL ENGINEERING:

  • Foundations for equipment and buildings
  • Optimization of plant’s road system

ELECTRICAL ENGINEERING:

  • Electrical equipment and wiring for new silo
  • Area ground lighting

PROJECT MANAGEMENT:

  • Managed scope, schedule and budget
  • Handled all document control
