PSE was contracted to convert an operator interface. It was upgraded from Siemens Process Suite to PCS7 OS/APACS. The project modified the standard PCS7 OS library symbols to closely match the symbols used in Process Suite. For this project, PSE created new graphic symbols and faceplates to add to the standard Siemens OS library. PSE was able to perform the database automation function using the APACS DBA tool. The database was built for the new OS from the APACS HMI comments. PSE converted approximately 54 existing Process Suite graphics to dynamic OS graphics. The security features within OS were designed to match the existing security within the Process Suite software.
