Control Systems Engineer V

JOB SUMMARY

Under general direction of the Director of Engineering, a CSEV functions as the Manager of Controls. They ensure that all Control Engineers and Designers follow prescribed company procedures and industry best practices, as well as meet project goals to be on time, under budget with the highest quality requirements to the satisfaction of the client. The incumbent should demonstrate excellent management skills as well as a high degree of creativity, foresight, and mature judgment. The incumbent should have skills in all aspects of controls and should be able to present the companies experience and capabilities to clients and potential clients.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As Control Systems Engineer V, you can expect to:

  • Ensure that procedures of the company and project are met
  • Manage large control systems projects
  • Ensure that controls systems engineers and designers are meeting the client’s needs and expectations
  • Participate in proposal presentations and business development activities to ensure growth and work opportunities for the department. Report to Director of Engineering on staffing and engineering needs to meet the current work load
  • Prepare total installed costs (TIC) estimates for control system projects
  • Oversee the staffing and scheduling control system personnel
  • Program independently and be resourceful in said programming
  • Check and verify others’ control system work
  • Train other controls personnel
  • Ensure that the control system design engineering services are commensurate with professional codes and standards, client requirements, and corporate objectives

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline, a minimum of 15 years controls experience preferred, capable of managing control projects
  • High level of technical knowledge as well as excellent leadership, interpersonal, employee and demonstrated client relationship skills
  • Thorough understanding of the capabilities and limitations of various DCS and PLC software packages and general automated engineering and design equipment to effectively direct their use for diverse engineering assignments
  • PE license required
  • Consulting Engineering experience preferred
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent skills with AutoCAD to create and edit drawings as needed
  • Complete knowledge of P&ID symbols as defined by ISA standards
  • Competency in one or more PLC or DCS programming languages

 

 

Project Manager

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of engineering projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Project Manager, you can expect to:

  • B.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience
  • PMP certification preferred

  • EVM experience preferred
  • Experience in managing scope, schedule, budget and customer
  • Microsoft Office with emphasis in Excel

Client Relations Manager

JOB SUMMARY
The Client Relations Manager is responsible for driving revenue in an assigned territory.  This is a great opportunity for a strong sales person looking to grow with a high growth company.

As a Client Relations Manager, you can expect to:

  • Ensure that Precision Systems Engineering (PSE) is the client’s consultant-of-choice, that we have a thorough understanding of the client’s consulting needs and are seen as their best advocate for accomplishing their goals
  • Learn the client’s full range of consulting needs
  • Learn the client’s organization and decision-making style and process
  • Develop and maintain consistent relationships with key decision-makers within the client organization
  • Identify opportunities to influence and create the client’s perception of PSE
  • Develop strategies to expose the client to the full-range of capabilities offered by PSE
  • Maintain an understanding of regulations, competitors, and external drivers that may affect our clients

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 1-5 years experience in an outside sales or channel sales role with a verifiable strong sales track record
  • Candidate must be willing to travel 50% +
  • Bachelors degree in Engineering, Business, or Sales/Marketing
  • Candidate must be creative and driven to achieve results

Mechanical Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Mechanical Engineer, you can expect to:

  • Participates in the development of project design concepts and criteria
  • Analyzes complex problems requiring the development of new or improved techniques or procedures
  • Represents respective projects at meetings and conferences
  • Prepares home office discipline estimates for mid size projects and complexity
  • May plan, organize and supervise the work on a mid size project. Evaluates the progress of the staff and results obtained, and recommends changes to the department manager or supervisor to achieve overall objectives. May be assisted on individual projects by other engineers or designers/drafters
  • Assignments may include extended, but temporary out of town assignments

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Requires 15 years refinery experience
  • Requires knowledge of the capabilities of various computer software packages and automated engineering and design equipment in order to effectively direct their use for diverse engineering assignments
  • Preferred understanding of basic Caesar II, HYSIS (Aspen+), AutoCAD and Cawdor
  • Coordinates well with lead designers in all disciplines to implement design work in compliance with applicable codes, specifications and accepted engineering standards and procedures
  • Professional registration is desirable

 

 

Mechanical Designer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Mechanical Designer, you can expect to:

  • Prepares  drawings  of  unusual,  complex,  or  original  design  that  require  a moderate degree of precision
  • Develops original functional designs
  • Checks manufacturer prints, prepares plans, and provides design sketches for preparation of finished design drawings and the refinement of technical requirements for general layouts
  • May include extended but temporary out of town assignments

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Candidate should have 5+ years of experience in design technology drafting
  • Requires high school or vocational training in intermediate drafting technology experience, or AA in Engineering Technology
  • Requires an intermediate level of knowledge of CAD applications for the production of engineering documents preferably:
    • AutoCAD 2017
    • Experience with 3D mechanical software, CADWorx, Autodesk Inventor a plus
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
  • Ability to research ISA Standards for Mechanical Design
  • Previously worked with other engineers, designers and drafters under a direct supervisor
  • Be capable to work separately as well as participate as a functional part of a project team
  • Experience with mining processing a plus. Experience in mechanical material handling design, i.e. hoppers, chutes, conveyors, crushers, etc. and plant layout in general arrangement’s helpful

 

 

Controls Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Controls Engineer, you can expect to:

  • Work in coordination with the Project Managers makes sure the project procedures of the company and project are met
  • Ensure that the Controls Systems Projects meet client needs and expectations
  • Report on status of all projects during execution and upon completion
  • Prepare engineering estimates for new projects
  • Program independently and be resourceful in programming skills
  • Check and verify others control system work
  • Ensure that the control system design engineering services are commensurate with professional codes and standards, client requirements, and corporate objectives

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline with a minimum of 5 years controls experience
  • Requires a high level of technical knowledge as well as excellent leadership, interpersonal, employee and demonstrated client relationship skills
  • Preferred knowledge of PLC and DCS languages such as Allen Bradley, ABB, Yokogawa, Siemens, Delta V and Galil
  • Requires a thorough understanding of the capabilities and limitations of various DCS and PLC software packages and general automated engineering  and design equipment to effectively direct their use for diverse engineering assignments
  • Consulting Engineering experience preferred
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal and interpersonal skills

 

 

Electrical Engineer

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As an Electrical Engineer, you can expect to:

  • Prepare calculations and sketches for a detailed segment of a project
  • Prepare technical specifications for review and approval
  • Evaluate vendor bids and drawings to assure compliance with specifications
  • Review and approve design drawings for assigned segment of a project
  • Monitor the activities of subcontracted technical services
  • Assist with the development of design guides, guide specifications, and design control procedures
  • Assignments may include extended, but temporary out of town assignments

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 5+ years design engineering experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Requires an advanced level of working knowledge of various computer software packages including automated engineering and design equipment
  • Must have understanding of SKM or similar electrical study software
  • Ability to use AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical preferred
  • Coordinates well with lead designers in all disciplines to implement design work in compliance with applicable codes, specifications and accepted engineering standards and procedures
