PSE was contracted to replace an antiquated burner management system with a new NFPA code compliant control system. Included were two roasters with a total of 64 burners and the old flame scanners on each burner were replaced with Coen DSF-2000-SB flame scanners. New instruments were added to comply with NFPA regulations. New conduit and new local terminal panels were installed to connect the field instruments to the I/O located near the control room. All burners were monitored and controlled from a central control room. The majority of the work was done prior to a two-week shutdown in order to accommodate production schedules.
